When the team at Nationwide Windows & Doors decide to run a charity day, we go all out and the recent Wear It Pink day was no exception. Set up by Breast Cancer Now to raise money to further research of disease, and provide treatments, support and hope for its sufferers, Wear It Pink day happens in October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Daryl Cashmore, Operations Director comments: “It was great fun seeing the team’s interpretations of Wear It Pink, as we joined the thousands of people taking part in this national charity event. From a sea of pink shirts to a Compliance Fairy, Pete’s “black only attire” in a tutu, pink panthers and Janet and Tilly, who were at home and sent us a picture showing their support.
“In addition, we had the Great Nationwide Bake Off which saw some hot competition in our stores department, as Ryan Cashmore and Martina Barcova went to battle. Congratulations to Ryan who was voted the winner. Helen Owens raised £48.00 from her hand made ties and novelty items. The Commercial Admin team ran a raffle which included a number of donations including two extra days leave, which we as directors donated in support. The raffle alone raised a staggering £718.62.
“It was a fantastic day and we’re really proud that Team Nationwide raised over £1000 through all their efforts.”
